yeah, we went to China.

I now fully understand what Amanda Bynes meant when she said, "Jet Lag" in that scene where she and Colin Firth bonded over a bowl of Coco Pops in the middle of the night.  I am pooped.  Yet, I would gladly give up my soft mattress and fork to stay a few extra weeks.  Which is quite a turn around from how we were feeling that Monday.  After the kids were all in bed that night, I seriously wondered how we were going to survive the entire week.   Check Philippians 4:19, kiddo. He did provide everything-from patience, to a tea that was cold and almost sweet.   This trip was absolutely the most humbling one I have ever embarked on. The Lord continuously gave me peace and patience, which I am so thankful for.  There is no way we could've done it all without Him.   Now, go a page back and check 4:4-5.  Go ahead and memorize that. ...especially not when we came out the wrong exit of the tra...

HE'S MY FAVORITE WRESTLER!

Well ladies and gents, VBS week is upon us, and in full swing I might add. Today was tacky tourist day, so obviously I donned my super cool airbrush tshirt from spring break 2009, some tall socks, and my purple "Heartbreaker" fanny pack that came on my awesome purple bike I got when I was 6 or 7.  I pride myself on being able to still wear it around my waist (as opposed to my thigh), however, wearing it did create a slight problem concerning the blood circulation to the lower half of my body...definitely a better fit for 8 year old me.  Anywho, tomorrow is sunglasses day (prayers that I don't fall since I will be in the dark all morning), and Friday is flip-flop day (which could also prove to be a tripping hazard).  The music is its usual catchy, cheesy-ness.  We had SO much fun with the A-B-C song today!  It's very jazzy this year, the video is in black and white, and good ol' Jeff Slaughter is dressed in a striped suit that makes him look like a...

Procrastination: level 4874

MY FIRST YEAR OF COLLEGE IS 2 DAYS AWAY FROM BEING OVER!!!!!!!!!!! (counting today) ... and I'm just a smidge bit excited. :) I promise that this ALL CAPS level of EXCITEMENT is not derived out of pure misery and homesickness (although I will be glad to sleep in my own bed).  I love Auburn, and am definitely equally excited to move into an apartment with Miss Nicole Davis in the fall, so my current EXCITEMENT is more of a victory cry than a regretful wail.  In leu of my successful completion of my first year of college, I would like to share some things that I have either learned for the first time or been reminded of over the past 12 months. (In the following, I may sound very young and stupid to some.  I am just trying to be honest however, and hope that I do not frighten any parents with non-college age kiddos.)  Random Things I Have Learned (in no particular order) 1.  Studying is NOT an option Yeah, maybe not for every single class, ...

Enemy-Occupied Territory

I'm just going to quit apologizing for the gargantuan gaps of time between my posts.  I never promised to be on a schedule anyway. Plus, I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to deadlines.  It's a problem. So, today I am sitting in the old coliseum, which I will miss terribly when/if they tear it down.  Through running all the miles and stairs this building and I have bonded.  Also, there's never anyone in here other than the occasional intense power walker or P.E. majors, which makes for a good place to run as well as just sit and think or get into some scripture.  I love this place :) This past weekend, Jay (my hilarious, 10 year old brother for those who don't know) and I spent a couple of hours bonding over one of the best PS2 games ever: StarWars Battlefront. * Dork Alert * But seriously, we love that game.  I definitely do, since its one of very few video games I can comprehend enough to play well.  If you have absolutely no idea what I'm talki...

Total Berzerko Freak Out Mode

To begin, I am long overdue for a post, and for this I offer my sincerest apologies. Second, gummie bears make a terrible breakfast regardless of the quantity consumed. Third, I am going to write straight from the current thoughts in my head today, because that's what He has told me to do. So, a running theme in my life is God's sovereignty.  He reminds me of it on a daily basis, sometimes more than once, because I am such a planner.  I like to be prepared, and have something of an outline of how things are going to go.  I will fly by the seat of my pants if need be, but that's not how I like to do everything.  I'm not much of one for surprises (PLEASE, no one ever throw me a surprise party), and I like to know where I'm going on trips so I can pack appropriately, etc. Yeah, awesomely, that's not how God works. He feels no need to check in with me whenever He decides to make a change or move in my life.  Sheesh! I'm so glad He doesn't.  My life...

Puddle Days

"God didn't make the sun for you to sit in the library, Marcie." -Peppermint Patty I agree with her 100%!  And not only because I happen to hate studying. All day long I have been hurrying through buildings, and slowly strolling whenever I am outside.  Reason: it is absolutely totally gorgeous today, and I am glad, because God let it be sunny today so that I could share something He has shown me.  Which I think is SUPER DUPER awesome. :) And my heart is all full, because of how neat God is and how he tells me things, and replaces what I think is best with His best.  :) It's just really cool. So, the story-thing I am going to write about today was actually supposed to be done and posted early yesterday afternoon, however, that did not happen.  Things kept coming up, and people were always around, and it just didn't happen.  Honestly, this made me a little frustrated, because I really wanted to share my thoughts, but God hadn't finished the story yet. ...

OHH! YOU ROCK!

Today I find myself sitting on the floor in the top of Foy, which is a nice hideout from the crazy campaigners and their giant signs spread all up and down the concourse.  (Not all of them are crazy, so no offense if you are one of them.)  I just prefer it up here on this ancient (sometimes smelly) carpet in the peace and quiet.  :) Well, it's usually quiet. Today is a different day however, because there are foreign students up here rotating to different learning stations all dealing with Valentines Day.  The station next to me has them sitting at a table and seeing how many candy hearts they can stack without them falling over.  (The current record is 17, by the way.)  When they finish stacking, they all read the sayings on them. Now, I know this does not seem like anything spectacular.  When you get a box or bag of candy hearts, you know what "head over heels", "no doubt", "sugar lips", and "luv you" mean, but these students don'...
